Venezia (Part Quattro) - Snack bars

In Venice, it's a simple task to eat on the go if of course you can eat sandwiches with meat, savoury and sweet pastries and pizza squares. There are multiple snack bars where you can stand at the bar and instantly swallow some glutaneous goodies for no more than 2 euros a pop.

And then there's people like us, who I have discovered can do the same, in maybe a little more time and for a few more euros, and more healthily.

Not all, but some snack bars around Venice offer from their glass cabinets, vegetables marinated in qualititive olive oil. Ask for a plate of carrots, potatoes, sometimes even polenta cakes and you can be a fast food consumer too.

La Vedova, off Strada Nova is one of my favourites. There, you can find platters and platters of vegetable dishes that can be made banquets out of. It's a famous food stop for it's delicious menu, warm charm and volatile owner.

La Vedova is in the zone of Cannaergio, close to the Ca D'oro boat stop, at the end of a small alleyway off the main street of Strada Nova.

Note: The photo attached is not a representation of Vedova or any other snack bar offering gluten-free food. It does however reflect the general atmosphere of snack bars in Venice at night.
